Perennial herb about 35cm high. Rootstock stout, covered with fibrous stalks of withered leaves. Basal leaves lanceolate, longitudinally veined glabrous or slightly hairy; cauline leave sessile. Flowers bluish white. Propagation by seeds or by rhizomes.
