Tall aromatic perennial grass upto 2m high with very fragrant leaves. Leaf-blades linear, tapering to a long, membranous, acuminate tip drooping at two third of its length. Leaf sheaths smooth and glabrous yellow in color. Propagation by seeds and by slips.
