Large tree with smooth bark, pale or ash grey upto 20m high. Branchlets quadrangular glaucocus. Leaves of young trees opposite, sessile, oval oblong, with cordate base, glaucocus; older leaves dangling, spirally arranged, lanceolate. Flowers with very short pedicels, mostly umbellate.
